An indicator that the file is empty (and thus probably isn't a binary) would be useful. Granted, this information is not provided by Git status either (At least not for untracked files), but my hopeful goal with sourcetree is not having to open a terminal window to double-check.
Zero byte size (or empty) files are reported as "binary files" with "no preview available" and no indication that they are 0-bytes
