Left-sidebar sections have no differentiation between collapsed and empty

      See attached screenshot; STASHES is collapsed and SUBMODULES is expanded but there's no way to know immediately that STASHES has children - it looks like an empty list.

      To find out you have to mouse-over the label to have the 'Show' tooltip appear.
