I would like to have a persistent console log that can be toggled on or off. It would be nice if it could be at the bottom of the window, maybe in a small drawer or similar effect.

Reasoning: We don't have the "Always display full console output" preference turned on because it comes up for minor actions like staging files. It's bothersome to have to dismiss this dialog for the majority of actions which are successful. It would be quicker to just glance at the output in a log window.

Problem: When pushing to a server that runs a post-receive hook, we miss the output of those scripts and can overlook an error quite easily.
