      My suggestion is to add some useful metadata to binary files when shown in the diff window.

      More specifically, I would really be interested to see the file sizes, before and after.

      Since I've just done a sweep to optimize my images, and am now about to commit the changes, it would be nice to see what the total effect on file size is between the commits.

      Other metadata that could be useful in this use case are as described in SRCTREE-1299 as well.

            Please add this. This is bothering me a lot during code reviews.

            Also, this should be always present (not only diffs)

             

            Update: nevermind, I'm talking about JIRA and Bitbucket, but searching got into this. I don't own a Mac

            Would be an awesome feature for exactly the use case mentioned from OP: Image optimization. Seeing that the pictures look nice is good, but that the size differs would explain why I actually see the image.
