Issue Summary:
When a customer attempts to submit a review for a Marketplace app, the system does not validate whether the hosting type selected during submission matches the hosting type of their actual app license. This results in the review being silently rejected after submission, with no actionable guidance provided to the customer at the point of failure.
A customer holding a Data Center license submitted a review for an app by navigating to the Data Center tab on the Marketplace listing page. Despite following the published review guidelines, the review was rejected because the system processed it as a Cloud review. The customer received a rejection email with no explanation of the hosting type mismatch, and the only resolution available was to ask the customer to re-submit from scratch.
Expected Results
When a customer submits a Marketplace app review, the system should validate that the hosting type selected at submission matches the hosting type associated with their active app license. If a mismatch is detected, the customer should be informed at the point of submission with a clear and actionable message, allowing them to correct the selection before the review is submitted. This would prevent unnecessary rejections and reduce friction for both customers and partners.
Actual Results
The system accepts the review submission regardless of whether the selected hosting type matches the customer's license. The review is then processed through the compliance pipeline for the selected hosting type, which the customer does not qualify for. The review is rejected after submission, and the customer receives a generic rejection email that does not explain the root cause or guide them on how to resolve it. The partner is left with no recourse other than asking the customer to re-submit manually, which may result in customer drop-off and a lost review.
Workaround
There is no other workaround besides resubmitting the review.
