IllegalArgumentException: Project permission [MANAGE_SPRINTS_PERMISSION] does not exist.

when Jira Softare is not enabled in Cloud.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Migrate to a Jira Cloud that does not have Jira Software enabled

      Expected Results

      The migration is completed successfully.

      Actual Results

The below exception is thrown in the migration log file:

2021-08-19 06:03:49.024 ERROR ABC project-import We couldn't import Permission Scheme 'Default software scheme'. Reason: IllegalArgumentException: Project permission [MANAGE_SPRINTS_PERMISSION] does not exist. This caused 20 other items to fail.:

      Workaround

The issue is caused by having a site that does not have Jira Software enabled as this is required for the permission [MANAGE_SPRINTS_PERMISSION].

      To resolve this:

      • Ensure Jira Software is enabled on your cloud site
        OR
      • Create a new Jira Core project in Server/DC
        • Then move the Jira Issues from the offending project to that new Core project
