Current Behavior

Due to the 62 character limit for slugs in Bitbucket Cloud, it can be difficult to make the necessary changes in the production server environment when migrating sometimes hundreds of repositories that would impact endpoints, and impact customer teams heavily during the stages of preparing to migrate.

Desired Behavior

• Productize a solution to either allow migrated repos to have longer slug length, or another solution that would ease the pain of potentially updating hundreds of repo slugs, and the various downstream updates that would be required in order to be eligible for migration to Bitbucket Cloud.

Workaround

Create a cloned environment to verify the processes of performing the updates, and then planning downtime accordingly to perform the changes in the production environment.
