After migrating to Confluence, an old version of the page displays when editing

      Issue Summary

A customer migrated their some documents to their Confluence Cloud sandbox. When viewing the page, its content and formatting look correct. When editing the page, the document's content reverts to an older version, not the version that was migrated from their existing Confluence setup. This occurs both in pages that have and have not been converted to the new Confluence Cloud editor.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Access the problematic page
      2. Go to the edit mode
      3. The draft version is different than the published version

      Expected Results

When editing a document that is migrated, it should not show content from an older version of the page.

      Actual Results

When editing a document that is migrated, it shows content from an older version of the page. It shows the correct up-to-date version when viewing the page.

88f166614648  - I was able to look into a customer site that was affected by this and I found that this is actually caused by an issue on export, so I will reopen this bug and reassign it to the correct team. Thank you for your patience!

Hello Nilay - this is still an issue for our team and one that is impeding our imminent migration to Confluence Cloud.

I had the following ticket open: PCS-244942.

My support rep was able to reproduce the issue and stated that the only way they'd found to resolve it was by manually revert each page in the documentation within the "edit" screen. There are many, many pages of impacted documentation and it seems dicey for our team to manually update and revert every single page - seems like we'd be at risk of data loss, etc., not to mention the time to revert and publish the docs.

Please review and let me know what you need from my team to investigate further. We're quite hesitant to pursue the approach outlined above for a variety of reasons.

            Thanks,

            Matt

            Hello everyone,

This is Nilay from the Confluence team. Thank you for raising this bug and bringing it to our attention. After our investigation into this issue, we weren’t able to reproduce the behavior of old versions showing up when editing within our instances.

To set the right expectations, we are closing this bug to focus on our upcoming roadmap for all Confluence users.

If this is still an issue for you, please let us know. Thank you again for providing valuable feedback to our team!

            Best,

            Nilay
