Cloud Backup is causing the Product Link fix task to become stuck.

    Description

      Problem

      Post-migration, when we use the Product link tool to fix broken links the task gets Stuck in Inprogress status.

      Investigation

      • Check the status of the task by downloading the report
        • In admin.atlassian.com, go to Settings > Product links.
        • Choose the product for which you want to download the file, and select … > Download history report
      • In the report, we will see the task status as BACKUP{}
      • Check the corresponding products to see if any backup is running on the cloud side using the below steps:
        • For Jira:  Select Settings  > System > In the IMPORT AND EXPORT section, select Backup Manager.
        • For Confluence: Choose the cog icon  in the Confluence navigation in the header, then choose Backup Manager

      Suggestion

      Currently, Customers need to wait for the backup to complete or reach out to Atlassian support to check if they can cancel the backup if it is in Stuck status. 

      It would be better to have a banner on the Product link tool page if any active backup is in progress for the respective Product(Jira/Confluence). This way customers will be more vigilant to wait until the backup gets completed.
