Add real-time audio detection and "No Audio" warnings during/after recording

XMLWordPrintable

Currently, users may complete a long Loom recording only to find out afterwards that no audio was captured (due to incorrect mic settings, system mutes, or encoding issues). This leads to significant lost time and a poor user experience.

      Proposed Solution:
Loom should implement a proactive notification system to alert users when audio is not being detected:

A persistent visual warning or toast notification if the input level remains at zero for a set duration (e.g., "We aren't detecting any audio. Please check your microphone settings.").

: A prompt on the video review page if the file contains no audio track or only silence (e.g., "This recording appears to be silent. Would you like to try again?").

      Customer Value:

      • Users won't spend 10+ minutes recording a video that is ultimately unusable.
      •  Immediate feedback helps users identify hardware or permission issues right away.
      •  Increases the likelihood of a "one-take" successful recording.
