Summary
To allow anonymous comments on public videos to collect more feedback with less friction from external viewers.
Description
User Problem
Creators often share Looms with external audiences (clients, partners, community, etc.). These viewers can watch without logging in, but must sign up/sign in to comment. Many won’t do this “just to comment,” so creators lose feedback and discussion, especially on broadly shared or one‑off videos.
Suggested Solutions
- Add a per‑video (and/or workspace) setting: “Allow anonymous comments (no login required).”
- When enabled, non‑logged‑in viewers can comment as “Guest/Anonymous” or with an optional name.
- Clearly label anonymous comments and allow creators/admins to delete or report them.
- Provide workspace‑level controls to enable/disable anonymous comments globally.
Current Workarounds
- Keep videos public and ask viewers to:
-
- Sign in/sign up to Loom to comment, or
-
- Send feedback via another channel (email, chat, form, etc.).
