Issue Summary
For some customers, as soon as they finish a recording (and if their Loom is set to Public), they receive a video view notification from an anonymous viewer. Upon inspection of this view, it is linked to a bot and not a live viewer.
Steps to Reproduce
Not all customers are facing this, but for those who are, these are the steps:
- Record a Loom
- Set it to Public (if not defaulted to it)
- See the view notification come through
Expected Results
Bot traffic to videos would not register as a View even if they were landing on the video.
Actual Results
For some users the bot pings are causing viewer notifications. On those recordings, it means that when an actual viewer views the video they will not be notified, since we only notify on view first view.
Workaround
For paid plan users: Change the default video permission on your workspace to private instead of public: https://support.atlassian.com/loom/docs/use-looms-privacy-settings/
For free users: None
