Some customers on an education plan would like the ability to promote Teammates or Co‑teachers in their workspace to Admin rather than being limited to a single Admin with all other members as Creators/Viewer roles.
The requested change would enable:
- Multiple trusted Admins in an education workspace for shared ownership and continuity (e.g., if the primary Admin is unavailable).
- Better collaboration and teamwork among teachers/co‑teachers, including shared responsibility for managing users, settings, and content.
- Alignment with Loom’s mission to “save time,” as administrative tasks (e.g., onboarding/offboarding educators, managing permissions, configuring workspace settings) could be distributed instead of being bottlenecked on one person.
Key use case: school/educational institutions where several teachers collaborate within the same workspace and need Admin‑level control to effectively manage their classes, students, and recordings.
Currently, the education plan’s limitation to a single Admin is a friction point for these collaborative environments.
