Some customers suggested that the product should have a way to configure fully custom “Generate” rules/templates in Loom AI, rather than being limited to the current preset options like SOP/How‑To, Email, and similar formats.
Some workflows need to provide more elaborate, reusable instructions that reflect their specific use cases (e.g., their own tone, structure, audience, and content guidelines), and then quickly apply those same instructions across multiple videos.
Today, Loom AI Generate only supports a fixed set of preset types, and while the customer can manually edit the generated content after the fact, this is repetitive and does not scale for frequent or team-wide use. The requested enhancement is:
- Allow users to define and save custom AI “Generate” templates/rules that include:
-
- A custom name/label for the template (e.g., “Course Lesson Summary”, “Client Update Recap”, “Internal Design Review Notes”).
-
- A free-form instruction field (prompt) where they can specify:
-
-
- Desired structure (sections, headings, bullet points, etc.).
-
-
-
- Tone (formal, casual, instructional, marketing, etc.).
-
-
-
- Target audience (students, clients, internal team, executives, etc.).
-
-
-
- Any recurring constraints or guidelines (word count, inclusion of links, CTAs, branding language, etc.).
-
- Make these custom templates easily selectable alongside the built-in presets in the “Generate” menu when using Loom AI.
- Optionally:
-
- Support editing/updating an existing custom template.
-
- Allow sharing templates at the workspace level so admins or creators can standardize AI outputs for their team.
-
- Let users set a default template per user or per workspace for specific use cases.
This feature would let customers avoid re-typing complex instructions every time they use Loom AI, ensure more consistent AI outputs across their recordings, and better align AI-generated content with their unique workflows and branding.
