Problem Statement:
- When a transcript fails to generate for a Loom video, all dependent AI features—such as recap, chapters, and transcript editing also fail.
- Eventually users get an option to "generate" the transcript for their videos.
- After the transcript is regenerated, only the transcript becomes available; the recap, chapters, and other AI features remain missing.
- Users are not given an option to regenerate these missing AI features themselves.
- Customers must contact Loom Support to manually trigger the regeneration of recaps and other AI features.
- This process leads to unnecessary delays for customers and increases the workload for the Loom Support team.
Suggestion:
Introduce a feature that allows users to manually regenerate recaps and other AI features like chapters, etc, directly from the Loom interface, similar to the existing “generate transcript” option.
This would empower users to resolve these issues independently, improving their experience and reducing support overhead.
Workaround:
At present, if the recap or other AI features are missing after regenerating a transcript, users need to reach out to Loom Support. The support team can then manually trigger the regeneration of these features.
