Problem Statement:

Currently, Loom only allows adding new clips at the beginning or end of a video. Splitting a video does not enable true insertion between segments—it only helps with trimming. This limitation makes it difficult to update, correct, or enhance videos without cumbersome workarounds (such as re-adding the original video as multiple clips and arranging new content between them).

Proposed Solution:

Introduce an “Insert Clip” feature in the Loom editor that allows users to:

• Select a precise timestamp on the video timeline (via playhead or input).

• Insert a new or existing clip at that point, splitting the original segment if needed.

• Seamlessly update the timeline and maintain overlays, trims, and transcript integrity.

User Value:

• Faster, more flexible editing: Easily update or enhance videos without re-recording or complex workarounds.
