      Issue Summary

By default, the Jira Work Management (JWM) Approvals feature sends an email notification to the Approver(s) when their approval is required. However, unlike the approvals feature available in Jira Service Management (JSM) projects, the email notification cannot be configured. It would be beneficial if the JWM approvals notification could be customizable, allowing for options such as email-only notifications or in-product notifications.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Setup JWM project approvals per Set up approvals for your project documentation
      2. Transition an issue to trigger the approval process

      Expected Results

The email notification is configurable similar to JSM projects (turned off, etc).

      Actual Results

The approvers will get an email notification and this cannot be configured.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
