Deleting Categories from List view does not remove them from appearing in "Group By" when grouping by categories.

    • 9
    • Severity 3 - Minor

      Issue Summary

After deleting a category in a work management project, selecting "Group by category" on the List view will still display the deleted category, even if no issues belong to the category.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a Jira work Management project
      2. Create multiple categories in the List view.
      3. Verify that they all appear when selecting "Group by: Category"
      4. Clear the group by, and then delete one of the categories from the same field you added them in (deleting the category completely, not just removing it from an issue)
      5. Hard refresh the page to ensure it's not cached.
      6. Select "Group By: Category" again, you'll see that the deleted category is still showing.

      Expected Results

Deleted category should not be showing in group by area if it's already been deleted.

      Actual Results

      Deleted categories still show up.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

[JWMCLOUD-687] Deleting Categories from List view does not remove them from appearing in "Group By" when grouping by categories.

This bug still appears to be present despite the 'Closed' status. Please can this be re-opened and fixed?

This bug is showing as closed but is still present in the application. Was this closed accidentally or was a decision made to not support? This could become a pretty big issue for us.

Currently utilising work management and this is a big bug bear at the moment. If this could be fixed as soon as possible that would be great. Any ETA would be greatly appreciated.

Also, this field is locked which prevents us from editing and deleting the field values from the custom fields admin section.

            Please fix this as well.

We chose to use Jira Work Management primarily for its list view and grouping functionality, which allowed us to develop an attractive solution for managing the roadmap with our customers. However, the fact that groups are not deleted and still appear in both the list view and the issues sections nearly undermines the entire setup.

            Please fix asap.
