Compared to Classic Board, where assignee can be modified on the card itself, the Rapid Board does not have such feature. With that said, changing assignee could only be done from the issue itself, or the issue detail view on Plan Mode.

This change impacts users that are migrating from Classic Board into Rapid Board.

[JSWSERVER-9640] Ability to change assignee in-place on Rapid Board

Not seeing the assignees as a text field in place is a major drawback in functionality compared to the classic boards. The rapid boards should:

            • be configurable to show names instead of avatar images. The user database is drawn from LDAP, but the avatar images are not synchronized. Also, there are some users from external companies who do not provide an image of their own. Displaying the assignee by name is a must-have on the cards. Otherwise, this critical information is not visible in the overview.
            • be able to handle assignment in place, like in the classic boards. The assignment is currently a multi-click activity on a field which is not in focus during planning. The classic boards had all information in focus (to be clear: focus is on the cards) and this should also be the case in the rapid boards.
