Report - Control Chart could be using more appropriate Mean & Standard Deviation

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Repro:

      1. Goto Rapidboard for project (which has at least two Resolved issues).
      2. Open Control Chart (Report tab).

      Expected:

      • A. Chart should show horizontal line using Geometric Mean.
      • B. Summary footer data should show Geometric Mean & Geometric Standard Deviation.

      Actual:

      • A. Chart shows horizontal line using Arithmetic Mean.
      • B. Summary footer data shows Mean (Arithmetic) & Standard Deviation (Arithmetic).

      Justification:

      • Cycle/Lead time is reasonably modelled with Lognormal distribution (or others), not likely Normal (as also evidenced by the existing logarithmic scale on the Control Chart's vertical axis).
      • The Lognormal moments are the Geometric Mean & Geometric Standard Deviation.
