    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

For our product, we need to arrange the backlog as following:

Epic, User stories and sub-user stories.

Currently GH supports only 3 levels of hierarchy - Epic, Story and Tasks. This request is to extend the stories hierarchy for more than 3 levels and table view provding required visualization to view the user-stories and sub-userstories.

Without support for nesting of user stories, it is difficult to use Greenhopper.

This issue will not be addressed as it is related to Classic boards, which are no longer being improved and will be removed in the future. We encourage you to migrate to the new Agile boards for all future work.

In order to get a full hierarchical structure of Epics and its related issues (stories, subtasks or any other issue type) you can use the Links Hierarchy Structure plugin.
It adds a new tab panel on the JIRA issue page and displays epics in an interactive tree graph:

            https://marketplace.atlassian.com/1211022

It works out-of-the-box, no special actions nor configuration are required.

I'd say they complement each other reasonably well but I can't promise that in future you wouldn't want to migrate to any hierarchy features we end up implementing.

            Thanks,
            Shaun

            Hi Shaun,
            Thanks for your response.

Would Structure plugin works with Greenhopper? I dont want to migrate to StructurePlugin and then migrate back to GreenHopper. We have started using Greenhopper and migration back and
forth is very costly. Please let me know if StructurePlugin complements GreenHopper?

            Thanks,
            krishna

            Hi,

This is something we'd like to do but don't have immediate plans to implement. You might want to look at the Structure plugin from ALMWorks.

            Thanks,
            Shaun
