    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem

There can be many different reasons why a specific Jira issue is missing from a Plan, as explained in the 2 articles below:

Understanding why a Jira issue is missing from a Plan can be quite a complex and tedious task, since there is no clear explanation/indication in the Jira UI as to whether a Jira issue should be shown or hidden.

      Suggestions

Add an in product tool allowing users to understand if and why a Jira issue is missing from a Plan, which could work similarly to the Permission Helper.

The tool could work like this:

      • The user fills in the following field in a form:
        • Plan Name
        • Jira Issue Key
        • Username (since a user's permission might impact the ability to see a Jira issue in a Plan)
      • The output would be as follows:
        • Will the Jira issue be visible or not?
        • If yes or no, why? For example:
          • The user has the permission to view the issue (based on the "browse projects" permission and security level)
          • The issue is/is not includes in the Plan source (based on the projects, boards, etc...)
          • There is an exclusion rule that is excluding this issue
          • The Jira issue is in a "Done" status, but without a Resolution and is therefore excluded from the Plan
          • etc...
