      Problem

      As a system administrator i would like to benefit from the high availability and redundancy options MS Azure offers for flexible server to ensure service continuity

      Suggested Solution

      Test and adapt Jira's database connections to high availability options like transparent switching from primary DB to the hot standby without impacting Jira

      Why This Is Important

      Better application robustness , nodes are redundant as part of a data center setup but DB is a single point of failure

      Workaround

      • There is no tested workaround for Flexible server service yet .
      • If the purpose is HA , In general it's possible to achieve it using Pgpool-II or similar software on standalone DB installations (machine(s) running standalone Postgres installations) not IAAS/PAAS
