Current System Behaviour with Time Tracking functionality disabled:
When Jira Admins decide not to use 'Time Tracking' functionality in Jira owing to certain corporate guidelines or security reasons, the estimate fields shown in Jira issues will automatically disappear which works well.
However, these estimate fields are still editable in Advanced Roadmaps Plans where users have Plan Settings configured to use estimation units (days or hours). Eventually they throw errors as time tracking is disabled but this is confusing the users.
Suggestions:
Just like in Jira GUI when the 'Time Tracking' functionality is disabled - estimation units will not be available on issues for view & edit and completely disabled.
The same should be implemented for Advanced Roadmaps Plans so that users will not get confused. The option to choose specific estimation units (hours & days) should be disabled.
This will ensure that users can only select 'Story Points' as estimation units and avoids confusion for users as well as their redundant efforts.
