Problem
Jira currently supports standard service account to connect Jira to our active directory. This results in that customers have to the new password in Jira if the Account password for this Service Account changes.
Suggested Solution
Allow to use the gMSA within "User directories" - "Microsoft Active Directory"
Why This Is Important
Especially if you have multiple user directories that will save a lot of work because you do not have to change the password anymore as you have if you use a nomal useraccount and you have to rotate the passwords.
Workaround
It may be possible to run Jira Server with a gMSA but this has not been tested with Jira applications and hence not a part of the supported documents guide. We typically recommend a dedicated service user account with permissions (requires full administrator rights on your Windows machine) to write to the shared home and some of the install directories.
