As a user I would like the "Parent link" field to trigger search as I type the issue key

      Problem Definition

      When we try to link two issues using the Parent link field, it fills the Parent link drop down field with 100 issues (there is a hard coded limit for displaying 100 issues). If the user needs to look for another issue, he needs to type the exact issue key as there is no search being triggered.

       

      Suggested Solution

      Please trigger a search on "Parent Link" field as the user types in the issue key.

            This is a serious product defect from our perspective and makes the product far less useable - expecting our users to remember issue keys is just not practical.

            Why is this being treated as a suggestion rather than a bug?
