    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Currently is only possible to add a hierarchy level above Epic. I know we are not the only organisation that uses SAFe as a Lean-Agile framework and utilises JIRA for Project/development/test/defect management within that framework. As you might be aware SAFe aligned organisations use the central hierarchy EPIC --> Feature --> Story.

[JSWSERVER-24817] Being able to add a hierarchy level between Epic and Story

This would be a really appreciated feature, not only for us but for many other organizations.

I removed my vote because I didn't notice that this request was for server and we're on cloud.

To support the SAFe framework we tried to rename Epic into Feature to overcome this, but Epic is kind of hardcoded in a lot of places (Epic Link, Epic Color).

We solved it by the following hierarchy Portfolio (Business Epics) -> Program (Features) -> Epic -> Story. For some features multiple teams are swarming to get feature done. Then Epics are helpful to group stories per team or by incremental step.

Before we commit to purchasing this plugin or recommend the use of it to the customers we have helped choose JIRA as a compatible tool as they move to a more Lean-Agile way of working, we would need to see it support the hierarchical structure implemented in SAFe.

SAFe, in our experience, is the most commonly adopted Agile framework at scale so it would make sense to support its basic structure.
