Extra ellipsis are created when edit "Fix Version/s" field is entered to edit, and then cancelled

Issue Summary

Multiple ellipsis will appear when entering a version field, but not making changes.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Enter enough version labels in the 'Fix Version/s' field so that it has to show the "..." at the end to indicate there is more to display. (Making the browser window thinner will help with this.)
2. Click on the '...' in the 'Fix Version/s' field to expand the field.
3. Click in the field as though you are going to edit the field so that the versions appear as lozenges/labels.
4. Make no changes to the field, just click out of it to cancel the edit.

Expected Results

The field should return to normal with just one set of ellipses in the field.

Actual Results

The more you repeat the steps above, the more ellipses will appear at the end of the field.

There are no entries in the logs in relation to this bug. This behaviour has been see in the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome-based browsers (MS Edge, Chromium), and Safari.

Workaround

Refreshing the page will return the field back to normal. This appears to be a visual bug only.
