At times when a plugin providing a gadget for a dashboard is being upgraded, accessing the gadget in the dashboard, generates wrong or incomplete specs. Since we have the cache for gadget specs set as expireAfterAccess(24, HOURS), the incomplete specs cached, never expire in a environment with large number of users who access it frequently. This results in corrupt content being shown in the dashboard until a restart. The suggestion is to provide a means to expire the cache at a shorter interval for gadget specs so that such scenarios can be avoided.
