Burndown gadget preview does not render, cannot be inserted into Confluence pages

      Summary

When trying to insert a Burndown gadget, with a Confluence instance connected to JIRA (with Agile), the gadget fails to render in the preview window and cannot be inserted

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Install Confluence
      2. Install JIRA with Agile
      3. Connect JIRA and Confluence using an Application link
      4. Add the JIRA gadget feed to Confluence
      5. Create a page in Confluence
      6. Insert the JIRA Agile Sprint Burndown Gadget

      Expected Results

The preview of the gadget loads, you select the project/sprint information, and then insert the gadget into the page

      Actual Results

The preview of the gadget never finishes loading. No errors appear in the logs, but if you view the network requests being made you should see a 400 error.

      Workaround

The gadgets were embedded in the page and they stopped working after a Linux patch.

Looking at the browser console, there is a consistent error for

indicating that the jquery is not loading into memory so any reference to jquery objects throws this error.

We have seen this with two Jira/Confluence combos:
            Jira6.3/Confluence5.4.4
            Jira6.3/Confluence5.8.8
