Problem Definition

Jira instance may have rank values that are later deleted. These fields may occur when updating from an older Jira version, or that a Rank field is manually created and associated to Jira Software. Users may want to delete these fields if not in use like if they are coming from an older Jira version, or due to performance related issues with having multiple rank fields.

However, the problem is that the data with regards to these fields after the issue is cleared remains in the lexorank and the lexorankbalancer tables and there is no automated way to clear this from the UI.

Suggested Solution

Have a option in the UI to be able to automatically clean data from fields no longer in use.
