When an Active Sprint board's swimlane setting is based on stories, it would be very helpful to show the assignee name and/or assignee's avatar at the story level. The workaround is to go to the issue details, or look in the backlog view, but my team finds this cumbersome.
I have found this issue reported in the community in a couple places, but there does not seem to be an answer.

[JSWSERVER-16396] Cannot display assignee name at story level on active sprint board
Nice, thank you for the help Amit, it is showing Assignee on the Active Sprint Story level now 
Actually I did nothing to enable it.
the only thing I can think of is that a few weeks ago I saw that Jira enhanced all of their UI\UX. so it might delivered as part of it.
just checked it and it is indeed part of the enhamncements.

Ooh that is interesting Amit, where do you enable this, I have looked under Board settings, can't see anything there? I see it can display the Epic, Status and Assignee.
Amit Kadosh can you see the attachment you added, I only see a broken grey mountain image with a x in it on both your image and mine? 
Kevin, what am I missing? I read the description again, and the photo attached to the issue. Whats is still missing?

What makes you say that Amit Kadosh, I only see this Card Layout feature but this is not what we are asking for 
Thanks, Amit. I confirmed we can see the avatars now at the story level when "enhance my board and backlog" is enabled. I think this ticket can finally be closed (I don't have permission to transition the issue).
