Summary
Boards issue detail view no longer shows "Add Link" button as it did in previous versions
Steps to Reproduce
- Install Jira Software on a 7.1.x version (7.1.6 or 7.1.9 for example)
- See that the issue details view does have this Issue link section of the page and a distinct "Add Link" button on this page
- Upgrade Jira Software to 7.2.0 or higher
- Check issue detail view again for this button
Expected Results
Would still expect this button to exist on that page in the same way
Actual Results
This button and section appear to have been removed from this specific view starting with Jira Software 7.2.0 and higher.
Notes
Customer reported this as a regression when testing upgrade from 7.1.6 to 7.4.3. I found that my 7.1.9 version also contained this view, but that the default Jira Software 7.2.0 versions do not have this specific view.
Workaround
You can still add links in the issue detail view. However in order to do this you would need to click the ... (More) menu button and select the Link option.

This problem has been reviewed by Jira DC Development team.
We believe that the current issue detail view design renders as expected. A linking option has been moved to details action represented as a three dots icon in the right corner of the issue detail view. Hence I am changing the type of this issue to “Won't Fix”.
We understand how disappointing this decision may be, but we hope you'll appreciate our transparent approach and communication. Atlassian will continue to watch this issue for further updates, so please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
