Make URL field links clickable from Kanban cards

      Problem Definition

      • You can add a URL custom field to a Kanban board card, however URLs in this field are not clickable from the card.

      Suggested Solution

      Allow such links to be clickable from the card to provide better usability.

      Why this is important

      • Users may sometimes have this URL field displayed on the card but not on the issue detail view. Which means if it's not clickable from the card, it wouldn't be clickable from the Issue Detail View either.
      • By making this link clickable a user will be saved an additional click to select the card and load the issue in the issue detail view from where the URL will then be clickable, provided they have the field on their View Issue screen.

      Workaround

      • Add the URL field to the View Issue screen, and use the clickable link for this field in the JIRA Software Issue Detail view
