Sub-task roll up

I've read the documentation about how Atlassian doesn't approve of subtask roll up due to the varying accuracy of things in the backlog and inaccuracy of velocity but our team does not care. The fact that this does not work is monumentally annoying for the way our team works.
There should be an option to enable this even with an asterisk and an "are you sure" dialogue box and a link to why it's horrible.
If this already option already exists can you please tell me where, I've looked.

Some people create subtasks with estimates and refuse to give the parent task an estimate because the "remaining estimated time" for the parent task becomes equal to "parent task estimate + total subtask estimate". Other people would prefer the sprint board and burndown to contain data for all tasks with subtasks. There is no middle ground for the two unless this feature is enabled.
