Description
Hi everyone,
Unfortuantelly for "Boards in this project" filter can not handle arbitrary JQLs, including those which include negation for project keys.
JIRA Software takes conservative approach on deciding which boards are displayed for a project to prevent too much noice in the board picker.
To browse all boards please use the Boards -> View All Boards (top menu).
We acknowledge that current experience might be frustrating for specific cases, yet our decision now is to keep current behaviour as-is which satisfies common use cases.
Therefore issue is resolved as Won't Fix.
Please continue voting on the issue if you are experience same problem. We regularly review issues based on customer interest, so the issue may be re-opened in the future.
Ignat Alexeyenko,
JIRA bugmaster.
Summary
Negation in JQL board filter breaks Board in this project link of a project
Steps to reproduce
(instance has project SKPA, SKP, and SSPA)
- Create a board name SKPA Board with board filter project = SKPA ORDER BY Rank
- Refer to project A > boards in this project will show SKPA Board
- Edit board filter to project = SKPA OR project != SSPA ORDER BY Rank > safe board filter
- Refer to project A
Expected result
board in this project link should still list SKPA Board
