Rich Text Editor in JIRA 7.2.x causes error in JIRA Software Control Chart using Internet Explorer 11

When accessing the Control Chart in a JIRA Software Project while using IE11, and being on JIRA Software 7.2.x+, an error is thrown in the UI:

When analyzing the error in IE11's Developer Console, the following can be seen:

It's uncertain at this time whether there are detrimental effects to the data in the Control Chart itself when this happens.

Environment

• JIRA Core - 7.2.1
• JIRA Software - 7.2.1
• Windows 8.1 Pro
• Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18427

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install a fresh, new instance of JIRA Software 7.2.x on Windows 8.1 or like environment
2. Enable the Rich Text Editor in Administration >> System >> Rich text editor
3. Create a brand new Software Project
4. Navigate to the Project/Board's Reports >> Control Chart

Expected Results

The Control Chart screen should load normally with no error messages.

Actual Results

The Control Chart screen will throw the errors in the screenshots above. Causes IE to be unresponsive, user must close IE and reopen.

Notes

This does not appear to reproduce in Firefox or Chrome.

Workaround

Disable the Rich Text Editor in your environment at Administration >> System >> Rich text editor
