      Epic Name (as well as Sprint) custom field seems to automatically be added to certain screens upon JIRA Agile installation or upgrade. In my case, one of the screens the field is added to turns out to be a system screen of a Service Desk project (which cannot be deleted). Since the field is only available to Epic issue type and this issue type is not used by the Service Desk project, this should be considered an unexpected behavior.

      What is strange is, manually removing the field from the irrelevant screens only lasts until the next restart. When JIRA is restarted, the screens reappear in the list of screens that the field belongs to.

      Unlocking the field doesn't seem to work around the issue. A possible workaround might be found at GHS-9654.
