As an admin, I'm used to Jira warning me about things before I delete them. If I delete a label, or a fix version, it tells me how many issues are using it before letting me delete it.

When I create an Agile Board, it creates a filter in the background. I didn't think about this or remember the name. Later, I was looking at my filters and couldn't remember what those simply named filters were for... so I deleted them.

      POOF! My boards were gone.

1- why can't a board exist without a filter in some state so that I could re-add a filter
2- why isn't there a warning "Deleting this filter will delete this board"

It was 20 minutes before I noticed the boards were gone, then I had to rebuild and reconfigure those boards (which took an hour).

[JSWSERVER-10198] No warning when deleting filter used by board
