    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

When managing cross projects rapid board, user would like to hide certain version off the board to avoid confusion for the product owner.

      Use case:

Similar to our own board, it shows all the versions from all project which is a bit confusing. User should be able to select which project's version to refer to.

Actual quotation from customer based on this use case:

The product owner has visibility over the ongoing sprint which contains tickets from both projects, can rank CONF tickets up to fix them faster, but can't really use the release management part of the board as the version tab is full of Confluence fixversions. If they'd add CQ-13 to a CQ fixversion, it was quite uncomfortable. You should see the next fixversion you want to release on top of the list. Even if the board had a quickfilter to hide CONF tickets to do the release planning, the CONF fixversions remain.

      Additional Information

Helpful customer also feedback that alternative to this is by implementing the hide based on the quick filter query, meaning when searching for project = projectA, the project B version will be hidden.

[JSWSERVER-10183] Ability to Hide Version on Multiple Projects Rapid Board

If custom selection of versions to show is too much to implement, a toggle to hide all from the linked projects would be fine, as I find no value in cross-project version viewing. If I need to know when another projects releases are, I can check, or add them to my own project manually. The lowest level of implementation, only show versions from the primary project.

I know its not an out of the box solution, we we use a plugin that does this called

Agile Tools & Filters for Jira Software https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215334/agile-tools-filters-for-jira-software?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

            Works perfectly!

I too would like to see this feature.

It is quite common for multiple teams to be working on the same feature.  If my team has a contribution to make towards a feature mainly managed by another team, as soon as I pull in the Epic from the other team into my board, I get all their versions, which causes so much confusion.  While this scenario might not be the idea "Jira way", some sort of workaround to hide version from another project would be very helpful

10 years in and folks still want this. My company has many teams utilizing Jira and without the ability to filter for Versions on a board, we are going to have to sort through hundreds of versions to find the one we want. Furthermore, this creates a huge security risk for releases. Please implement and this has my vote.

Yes, this is needed to help with decluttering the version panel and ensure the board is usable even if you are not a JIRA expert.

If I could vote again, I would.  This would be a great feature to add.
