      Issue Summary

Trashing a Version picker custom field in use can prevent releases / versions from being deleted

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a release
      2. Create a custom field, Single/Multiple version picker, and add it to the screens of the project where you created the release from step 1.
      3. Go to one issue, and edit the custom field in that issue, indicating the release from step 1
      4. Now go to the Jira settings > Issues > Custom fields, and trash the Custom field. This will remove the field from all the screens where it was used (although internally, the links with all the issues using that field remain).
      5. Now go to the project releases, and attempt to delete the release.

      Expected Results

      The release is deleted.

      Actual Results

The release will apparently be deleted, and a message of success will appear, but when refreshing the releases page or going to another page and coming back to the releases, the "deleted" release will appear in the list of releases again.

      Workaround

Un-trash or permanently delete any Version picker field in the trash
