Subtasks should inherit the epic/theme from their parent

      As it is, this has to be assigned manually.

            Thanks to everyone for commenting on this issue. I believe the request is also captured by GHS-8181. Since that one is more current I will resolve this as a duplicate.

            @lschmandt: you can configure custom swimlanes (type: Queries) that include these for you, but unfortunately overall board performance is affected badly when you do so, depending on volume of issues on your boards
            e.g.

            issuetype = Epic or issue in parent("issuetype = Epic")

            the parent() function is available via JQL Tricks plugin

            Using Epic swimlanes to organize a board is much less useful that it could be since any subtasks don't get grouped with the appropriate epic/stories.

            Should inherit when created - but be able to be re-assigned later to different epic.
