Issue Summary
The Epic quick filter on the Board behaves differently as compared to Epic quick filter on the Backlog of the board.
- The quick filter on the Backlog respects the Board filter and only displays Epics fetched by the Board filter.
- The quick filter on the Board displays all the Epics(even if it's not filtered by the board filter) if its child issues are displayed on the Board.
Similar behavior is observed when the Swimlanes on the board are set to Epics. The swimlane displays all the Epics if its child issues are filtered on the board.
This FR is to request is to request to have the Board and the Backlog display the same Epics and also the swimlanes should respect the board filter to avoid confusion.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a board on project A and ensure that it filters issues from project A only.
- Ensure that at least 2 of the issues in Project A have parents from different projects.
- Set the swimlanes on the board to Epics.
Results observed
The parent Epics from other projects are displayed in the Epic quick filter on the board while they are not seen in the Epic panel of the Backlog.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
At the moment, the Epics displayed in the Epic filter on the Board and Backlog will not necessarily be the same based on your setup.
- Additionally, the Epic Swimlanes are expected to display Epics even though they are excluded by the board filter if its child issue is part of the board.
