Description
Issue Summary
When configuring a Plan (Plan Settings > Source Data > Issue Sources) and selecting 'Filter' the UI struggles to return accurate results when searching saved filters.
It would be expected that searching by key words or even the exact Filter Name the results would be displayed. However, this is not always the case. The problem is exacerbated when the site has a higher number of saved filters (10k+).
Steps to Reproduce
- On a large site that contains a higher number (10k+) of saved filters
- Create a Plan
- Use 'Filter' as your issue source
- Search the exact name of the Filter to be used
- Search results will not include the target filter
Expected Results
The correct filter is displayed in the UI and is selectable.
Actual Results
You can see in the UI the filter search struggles to provide the target filter.
The issue is further compounded by the current design which will limit search results in most any field dropdown.
Looking more closely at the log returns, when filling the field, we see almost constant batch and ingests as the field is being populated. This is also by design. However, the search functionality fails to provide accurate results 100% of the time.
From a coding perspective, it appears this search utilizes the standard search API Endpoint used across most of Jira.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround, however encapsulating the filter name in quotes (e.g. "Filter Name") yields a higher success rate on search returns.
