Description
Issue Summary
The number of issues displayed on the board for various columns are different to the count of issues seen when configuring the board columns.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a team-managed project using the Kanban template
- Create some test issues in each of the statuses. Create some epics and sub-tasks too along with standard issue types ( Story, Task ).
- Enable the backlog and split the created issues between the backlog and the board. Ensure there are a few issues for each of the statuses
- Navigate to the Board > (...) > Configure board
- On each column in the board configuration, it will display the count of issues in those statuses
- Check the count of issues displayed on the board
Expected Results
The number of issues displayed on the board is the same as what is displayed on the column configuration page
Actual Results
The number of issues displayed on the board and the column configuration could be different.
Issue counts in each status on the column configuration -
Issue counts on the actual board
Workaround
Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available
Other Notes
There are a few different reasons why the count on the column configuration might not match the board in team-managed projects
- TMP boards only display standard issue types ( i.e no Epics or Sub-tasks ) without a group by selected
- The user might have cleared certain done issues from any columns that belong to a "Done" status
- If the project has the Backlog feature enabled, issues in the backlog status are counted towards the status in the column configuration page but will not be displayed on the actual Board
