Description
Issue Summary
In a Software Company Managed Project, if you have a board with all the statuses mapped to just one column then issues in the backlog or already assigned to a sprint disappear.
It doesn't matter if the board has more than 1 column, the bug happens if all the statuses are assigned to only one column.
This bug only impacts:
- Issues in the backlog not assigned to a sprint.
- Issues assigned to a sprint or future sprints that are not active (not started)
Per documentation Configure columns:
At its most basic, a column describes the current status of an issue. For example, the default columns of a Scrum board are To Do, In Progress, and Done
Because this statement, and the fact there are no requirements of the amount of columns that must exist, the Jira Administrator can configure the board to have only one column with all the statuses assigned to it.
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to Board Settings > Columns
- Move all the statuses to 1 column - See the image BoardWithSingleColumn.png
- Go back to the Backlog
Expected Results
- See issues in the backlog not assigned to a sprint
- See Issues assigned to a sprint or future sprints that are not active (not started)
- See the image IssuesShowingBeforeBoardChange.png
Actual Results
- Issues in the backlog not assigned to a sprint disappear
- Issues assigned to a sprint or future sprints that are not active (not started) disappear
- Sprints cannot be started as it says there aren't issues assigned to the sprint, however the issue is assigned to the sprint.

Workaround
- Move at least one status to another column or create/adjust statuses to columns as necessary - See the image BoardFix.png
