Description
Parent Link field has been replaced by Parent field.[ (See this Community post)|https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-articles/Introducing-the-new-Parent-field-in-company-managed-projects/ba-p/2377758]
This new Parent field is now available to be added as a field as Statistics type on relevant Dashboard gadgets.

Currently, in Jira, you cannot use the Parent Link field as a statistic type on any Dashboard gadgets nor does it support sorting via JQL (ORDER BY Parent Link ASC).
Message displayed on SORT by:
Field 'Parent Link' does not support sorting.
Proposed solution
Include the Parent Link field to Jira's supported field for sorting and statistic type on gadgets for better reporting.
