Cannot delete an attachment when added to description, comments field after an issue has been created

      Hi Everyone, 

      Thanks for your feedback regarding this bug. After a review of the bug reported, we have determined that this behavior is not actually a bug, but rather an intentional feature designed. We have made this design decision to make the workflow for deleting attachments more purposeful and intentional. We believe that this workflow will ultimately lead to a better user experience. Please refer to this product documentation that walks through how to delete an attachment in the issue view. 

      As a result of this review, we will be closing this bug-fix request.

      Problem

      An attachment cannot be deleted, when it is added to the description, comments field, after an issue has been created. The delete button is not available for the attachment.
      Issue not replicate when adding an attachment to description, comments field while creating an issue( delete button available)

      Environment

      Jira Software.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an issue with an attachment in the description field
      2. Once the issue is created, Add another attachment to the description field or add an attachment in the Comments field on the same issue.
      3. You will notice first attachment has delete option
      4. The attachment added in the description, comments field does not have delete option.

      Expected Results

      Attachment should have a delete button available

      Actual Results

      No delete button available for the attachment

      That also happens when you add attachments trough the description after the issue is created.

      Something that might happen is if the description is edited in any way (e.g. CSV import, API call), and the final values does not contain any reference to the attachment, the file will remain in the issue without the possiblity of deleting it trough the new issue view.

      In that scenario, you can delete the attachment by temporarily switch to the old view (if available):

      Workaround

      Edit the description, comments field to remove the attachment, where the cross mark is available for deletion.
