Closed Issues Without a Resolution Do Not Show on Plan

XMLWordPrintable

      Summary

Issues that have been transitioned into a "Closed" status (Closed, Done, Completed, etc) but do not have a Resolution set, do not show on their Portfolio Plan even with the Plan configured to show "Open and Completed Issues"

      Environment

      • Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a workflow transition that transitions an issue to a "Closed" status but does not set the Resolution Field
      2. Associate the Project to a Plan by either using the Project or the Project's Filter as the Plans Issue Source
      3. Transition an issue to the "Closed" status
      4. Set the Plans view to show "Open and Completed Issues" (More > Status)

      Expected Results

All Open and Closed Issues appear

      Actual Results

Closed Issues that do not have a Resolution set do not show on the Plan

      Notes

The issue may be in a Status of "closed" however in JIRA, this issue is not seen as Completed; if and only when the Resolution Field is populated is an Issue considered done.

      Workaround

Set the Resolution Field on these "Closed" issues: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/JIRA+Issues+Need+a+Resolution
The "Closed" issues should reappear on the Plan as long as the "Open and Completed Issues" Status View filter is selected.
