      Issue Summary

      Merge commit messages result in duplicate entries in Jira when using Smart Commits (comments, work log, and transition).

      Environment

      Jira Software Cloud
      Bitbucket Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. In Bitbucket, create a branch and commit a change with "KEY-123 #comment test comment"
      2. Create a pull request for the branch and merge it
      3. The merge commit that Bitbucket creates will contain "KEY-123 #comment test comment" again

      Expected Results

      Only 1 comment is visible in the issue KEY-123

      Actual Results

      The comment will "test comment" will appear twice in the issue KEY-123

      Workaround

      Edit the merge commit and remove the smart commit command "#"
